Cutting file should be certainly in vector graphics and plane, preferred formats:

*.DXF (AutoCAD)
*.CDR (CorelDraw) 
*.AI (Adobe Illustrator)

Cutting file must be drawn up correctly.

Bitmap *.BMP (bitmap) files are also appropriate for engraving, but it must be remembered that the final result depends directly on the quality of the file.

It is also an option that we prepare the cutting file.
